Mondaine

Speaking of Switzerland, that's watch. Taking of Watch, it's Switzerland.

Switzerland is one of the most famous precision instrument industry in the world. Particularly watch is the most famous product in Switzeland. There are so many famous watch brand and eight largest brand group in Switzerland. 1. Swatch group (Omega, Longines etc) 2. Richemont group (Piaget, Vacheron Constantin etc) 3. LVMH group (Tag Heuer, Zenith etc) 4. BVRGALI group, 5. Festina group (Gerald Genta etc), 6. Movado group, 7. Rolex group, 8. WPHH group (Franck Muller etc) .... Furthermore three famous watch brand are listed, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet. I don't want to explain details of each group and brand, but the brand I want to introduce to you all is "Mondaine" which does not belong to any group.

Mondaine is not so old and traditional watch brand. If you have been to Switzerland, I think you have seen this watch all stations in Switzerland. Mondaine made license agreement with Swiss Railways exclusively in 1989. Therefore Mondaine is used as official watch in all stations in Switzerland. As you know, that's so simple and smart design. I have one watch designed by Mondaine, but I have few chances to see Mondaine sold in department stores or watch shops in Japan. Of course, I seldom see Mondaine shops even if I travel to the world. But the price is not so expensive as Vacheron Constantin (lol) and everybody can get it easily.
